(2) H BurgerCo vs. (3) The Lobby
H BurgerCo took on mega chain Red Robin in the first round of the Denver Burger Bracket, and came out unscathed. They talk about hamburgers that are “re-born” at H BurgerCo, which is a description that I originally had trouble wrapping my head around. Can burgers really have a rebirth? And what exactly does that mean? Is it like a new concept burger? Or like an alien burger creation? I was confused to say the least. But according to their menu, that “rebirth” has to do with the freshness, originality, and sustainability of their burgers. They strive to only use the highest quality ingredients, like locally sourced hormone and antibiotic-free Angus beef, which is ground fresh daily. And to be honest, I think you can actually taste the freshness. The patty is the real star of the show, and is juicy and meaty goodness. Maybe it’s not a rebirth, but it’s certainly good.
The Lobby and their stuffed burgers beat the cheap and greasy bar burger from CandleLight Tavern in the opening round. The Lobby also stole the show in the first round by nearly burning my mouth off, and making my eyes and nose water at a truly alarming rate. That didn’t stop me from continuing to eat it of course, until I had to bow out early to the Diablo burger before I could finish it. The stuffed burgers are a great concept, because who doesn’t like gooey cheese running out from the middle of your burger when you take a bite? But it is enough to take the win and move on to the Elite 8?
White the Diablo burger gets points for being one of the hottest things I’ve ever put into my mouth, The Lobby’s other burger selections were good but not great. The patty at H BurgerCo puts them over the top in this match-up, and tastes as fresh as it gets. H BurgerCo is moving on to the Elite 8 to take on ChoLon Bistro.
